Fifty unpublished novels written in Macedonian have been submitted for the 2026 Pegasus Literary Award. The competition, organized by Ars Lamina Publishing House and the Slavko Janevski Foundation, ran from September 2, 2025, to June 1, 2026. A three-member jury, comprising cultural figures and a representative from the publishing house, will evaluate the submissions. The winner will be announced on September 2, 2026.
The Pegasus Award, established in 2019, aims to discover quality manuscripts that contribute to the development of the novel as a literary genre in contemporary Macedonian literature. The award includes a cash prize of 90,000 denars, a statuette, and publication of the winning novel.
This award plays a crucial role in fostering and recognizing new talent in Macedonian literature, contributing to the evolution of the novel as a genre.
