One of the candidates Evette and Wilson triumphed over is U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, who touted her strong support for Trump while also defending her decision to defy him by voting for the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
The winner of the June 23 runoff will face state Rep. Jermaine Johnson, who ABC News projects will win the Democratic primary.
In the race for the state's Senate seat, ABC News projects that incumbent Lindsey Graham will win the Republican primary and face Democrat Annie Andrews, who ABC News projects will win the Democratic primary, in November. Andrews, a pediatrician, previously ran in 2022 for the state’s 1st congressional district.
