Takaful operators collectively distributed RM10.61 billion in benefits to certificate holders last year, highlighting their commitment to fulfilling obligations amidst economic challenges and rising living costs. The family takaful segment remained the largest contributor to benefit payouts, with medical claims being a significant component, emphasizing the need for health coverage. Meanwhile, the general takaful segment saw a notable increase in claims, particularly for motor vehicles.
