Minister Stefan Andonovski emphasized that digital transformation is essential for economic competitiveness, national security, and institutional resilience during the opening of the "Western Balkans Digital Transformation Accelerator" conference in Skopje. He stated that building digital infrastructure today will directly impact citizens' access to services, business competitiveness, and societal security in the future. Andonovski highlighted North Macedonia's strong human capital and ICT sector, aiming for full integration into the European and transatlantic digital space. This requires reliable infrastructure, stable regulations, and strong partnerships with democratic allies. The government prioritizes digital transformation to reduce bureaucracy, increase transparency, and improve accountability for citizens and businesses. Legal changes will introduce standards for procuring trustworthy ICT equipment, and a project called "Vizual Tech" will soon be presented.
Digital transformation is critical for the region's economic growth, security, and integration into global digital networks.
