Serbian authorities have arrested four Belgrade police officers, including a commander and his deputy from the Intervention Unit 92, on suspicion of obstructing justice. They are accused of attempting to cover up an incident involving a fight and shooting at a bar. The officers allegedly instructed subordinates not to secure the scene or file proper reports, instead characterizing the event as a minor dispute.
This alleged cover-up is linked to the protection of an individual suspected of murdering a prominent figure known as Baja. The director of the bar where the incident occurred has also been arrested for failing to report the crime. The suspect in the murder, Sasha Vuković Boske, has been in custody since May, accused of shooting Baja and then concealing the body.
The arrests highlight potential corruption within law enforcement and raise serious questions about the integrity of investigations into organized crime.
