SR University, Warangal, held its fourth convocation ceremony on its campus on Tuesday, with about 1,500 students graduating across various programmes. Kuchipudi exponent Deepika Reddy was conferred the honorary doctorate (Honoris Causa) in recognition of her contribution to the preservation and promotion of Indian classical dance.

Addressing the graduates as chief guest, Group Vice-Chancellor of BITS Pilani campuses and former director of IIT Delhi, V. Ramgopal Rao urged students to remain curious, resilient and value-driven, and called on them to contribute to building a developed India through innovation, research, entrepreneurship and responsible citizenship.

Vice-Chancellor Deepak Garg, in the university’s annual report, noted that the university has featured among the top 100 institutions in the National Institutional Ranking Framework for four consecutive years and has been placed in the 801-1000 band in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, with subject rankings in computer science and engineering in the 601-800 band.

In his presidential address, Chancellor A. Varada Reddy urged graduates to use their knowledge for societal and national development.

The convocation was attended by special invitee, veteran politician and former MP Ramasahayam Surender Reddy and senior university officials, including Pro-Chancellor A. Madhukar Reddy, Pro-Vice Chancellor V. Mahesh, registrar P. Venkata Ramana Rao and faculty members.
