Using NATO jets to down drones not a long-term solution, say Latvian President and PM

Latvia's President Edgars Rinkēvičs and Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs have stated that utilizing NATO fighter jets to intercept foreign drones is not a sustainable strategy. This approach was employed for the first time in Latvia recently, but the leaders believe it should not be a permanent measure. Instead, they emphasized the importance of Latvia enhancing its own domestic air defense systems. The focus should be on building and strengthening national capabilities rather than relying solely on external military support for airspace protection.
