Children discovered pieces of salami laced with a potent poison, identified as Lanate, on a playground in the Rasadnik neighborhood of Kisela Voda. Following the discovery, parents reported the incident to the public enterprise "Laika," which sent the substance for analysis. Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of Lanate, an insecticide long banned in North Macedonia and the EU due to its extreme toxicity and frequent misuse for poisoning animals. This highly dangerous substance can be fatal to humans and causes agonizing deaths in animals. "Laika" is urging authorities to swiftly identify the perpetrator responsible for distributing the poison, noting a similar incident of mass animal poisoning occurred in the same area less than a month ago.
The presence of a highly toxic and banned poison like Lanate in public spaces poses a severe threat to public health and safety, particularly for children and animals.
