Congress MLA from Indi in Vijayapura district Yashvantaraygouda Patil has demanded that he and other leaders who were not made Ministers during Siddaramaiah’s term be inducted into the Cabinet now.

“D.K. Shivakumar has replaced Mr. Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister as part of an agreement between senior leaders on change of guard in the State. But the change of guard was promised in the district level too,” he said.

“When the Congress came to power in 2023, Mr. Shivakumar, Mr. Siddaramaiah and Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala promised me that power will be equally distributed between M.B. Patil, Shivanand Patil and me. I hope that the senior leaders will keep their promise,” he told reporters in Vijayapura on Wednesday.

“I am a senior leader. I have won multiple Assembly and local body polls over three decades. I am an aspirant for Ministership. There are several like me. Power should naturally be transferred to us,” he said.
