The decision demonstrates the Centre’s confidence in Amaravati’s future and its role as a major administrative and institutional centre, says Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Cabinet for approving the Central Government General Pool Office Accommodation (CGGPOA) project in Amaravati, describing it as a major step towards strengthening the administrative and institutional framework of the State capital.

In a post on X on Wednesday, Mr. Naidu said the approval of the CGGPOA project would enhance the presence of the Central Government institutions in Andhra Pradesh and improve coordination among various departments.

He noted that the establishment of a modern office complex for Central Government agencies would facilitate more efficient governance and ensure better delivery of public services to the citizens.

Mr. Naidu stated that the project would serve as a vital component of Amaravati’s growth as the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. He said creation of world-class administrative infrastructure was essential for the city’s long-term development and for positioning Amaravati as a modern governance hub.

The Chief Minister emphasised that bringing multiple Central Government offices under a single integrated campus would improve accessibility for citizens, streamline administrative processes, and foster greater collaboration among departments. Such integration, he said, would help create a more efficient governance ecosystem and strengthen service delivery mechanisms.

Mr. Naidu said the project reflected the Union Government’s continued commitment to supporting Andhra Pradesh and its capital city. He further remarked that the decision demonstrated the Centre’s confidence in Amaravati’s future and its role as a major administrative and institutional centre. He said the project would generate new economic opportunities, create employment during the construction phase,
