The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency, on Wednesday, secured 15 acres of government land at Madhapur by erecting fences around the property, following directions issued by the High Court.

The land, located in Survey Nos. 41/12, 13, and 14 of Khanamet village in Serilingampally mandal of Rangareddy district, had been at the centre of a prolonged ownership dispute. A private firm, Ittina Properties, had been claiming ownership of the land.

The dispute dates back to 2016, when the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) issued notices to Ittina Properties asking the firm to vacate the land. Challenging the notices, the company approached the High Court.

Bringing an end to the decade-long dispute, the HC recently delivered a judgment upholding the government’s claim over the land. Following a request from Revenue officials, HYDRAA fenced the 15-acre land parcel and installed boards identifying it as government land.
