A Class 10 student died after falling from the building of his school, Jnana Seva Shishu Mandir Primary and High School, in LIC Colony, Naubad in Bidar, on Wednesday, triggering a demand for action against the school management.
The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Sameer, a resident of Shanti Nagar Colony in Pratap Nagar, Naubad.
In a complaint lodged with the New Town Police Station, the boy’s mother, Shaheen Hameed, has said that negligence on the part of school principal Bhagya and another staff member, Rahul, led to her son’s death.
She urged the authorities to initiate appropriate legal action and ensure justice for the family.
According to the complaint, Sameer went to school as usual on Wednesday. Later, school authorities asked the family to go to BRIMS Hospital. Upon reaching the hospital, they learnt that the boy had died.
Shaheen Hameed has in the complaint said that the school authorities sent her son’s body for post-mortem examination without informing the family.
The New Town Police, who have registered a case, have taken up further investigation.
