An Air Arabia flight bound for Sharjah from Thiruvananthapuram was forced to return and make an emergency landing on Wednesday morning after it was suspected to have suffered a bird strike shortly after take-off.
The aircraft landed safely at the airport, and all passengers were evacuated without incident. The flight was subsequently grounded and subjected to detailed inspections by the airline’s engineering team.
While Air Arabia had not issued an official statement on the incident, airport authorities said the aircraft was forced to return owing to a technical issue related to engine performance.
