Taking exception to writer K.S. Bhagawan’s reported statement on Lord Rama’s parentage, Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Mutalik has warned the writer to stop making statement that undermines the beliefs of Hindus.
Addressing presspersons in Dharwad on Wednesday, Mr. Mutalik said that for thousands of years people have held deep respect, faith and belief in Lord Rama and such statement by individuals like Mr. Bhagawan is against the spirit of the Constitution.
Warning Mr. Bhagawan against making such further remarks, he said that they will be forced to take action on their own if the police fail to take action against him.
To a query, Mr. Mutalik said that Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, unlike his predecessor Siddaramaiah, has faith and reverence towards Hinduism and hoped that he will provide good governance by treating all castes, communities and sections of society equally.
