The Tindivanam police on Wednesday arrested four persons, including a juvenile who were in possession of painkiller tablets. The arrested were identified as Sivaguru Prasath, 24, Sriram, 20, Lokesh, 18, and a juvenile.

Based on a tip-off, a team was on patrol near a marriage hall in Vivekananda Nagar when they intercepted the four who were standing suspiciously with a bag. Upon searching the bag, the police found that they were allegedly in possession of pain-relief tablets intended for illegal sale.

Police said the accused had procured the painkillers from Chennai. A case has been registered.
