Opposition unveils 'People's Budget' ahead of 202627 fiscal plan

Kenya's opposition has presented its alternative "People's Budget" for the 2026-27 fiscal year, proposing a Sh4.8 trillion expenditure. This figure significantly contrasts with the projected Sh3.6 trillion in revenue, potentially creating a Sh1.1 trillion borrowing requirement. According to Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, a substantial portion of the national budget, Sh1.5 trillion, is already allocated to debt servicing and pension obligations.
