A 31-year-old Brazilian woman, who recently returned from working in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has been hospitalized at the Emílio Ribas Infectiology Institute. She developed symptoms including fever and diarrhea after arriving in Brazil on June 6th. The patient is currently in stable condition in isolation, and laboratory tests are underway to confirm or rule out Ebola. The state health department has intensified epidemiological surveillance and provided training to healthcare professionals following the initial suspected case earlier in June, which was later confirmed as meningitis.
