নিকোটিন পাউচের দাম ৫০০ টাকা, সিগারেটে বাড়ছে কত
জনগণের স্বাস্থ্যঝুঁকি বিবেচনায় নতুন সরকারও বরাবরের মতো এবারও বাজেটে সিগারেটের দাম বাড়াতে যাচ্ছে। তামাকজাত এ পণ্যের চার স্তরেই মূল্য বাড়ানোর প্রস্তাব করা হচ্ছে। একই সঙ্গে প্রথমবারের মতো নতুন তামাকপণ্য নিকোটিন পাউচের দাম নির্ধারণ করা হচ্ছে। আগামী ২০২৬–২৭ অর্থবছরের বাজেট প্রস্তাব অনুযায়ী, প্রতি ১০ শলাকা সিগারেটের দাম ন্যূনতম স্তরে ৬২ টাকা থেকে অতি উচ্চ স্তরে ২১০ টাকা হতে পারে। আর ১০ গ্রাম নিকোটিন পাউচের দাম নির্ধারণ করা হচ্ছে ৫০০ টাকা। অর্থ মন্ত্রণালয় ও জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ড (এনবিআ
The upcoming national budget is set to increase cigarette prices across all four existing tiers, with the minimum price for ten cigarettes rising to 62 Taka and the highest tier reaching 210 Taka. For the first time, a new tobacco product, nicotine pouches, will have its price set at 500 Taka for 10 grams. The government also plans to impose a 40% supplementary duty on nicotine pouches, alongside a proposed 350% supplementary duty to discourage imports. Additionally, a 'track and trace' system will be introduced to monitor tobacco product production and supply, aiming to curb illicit trade.
These price adjustments and new regulations on tobacco and nicotine products aim to increase government revenue and potentially discourage consumption for public health reasons.
