Several football clubs in Espírito Santo have terminated sponsorship agreements with Blackbox, a local company implicated in a federal investigation into money laundering activities linked to the PCC criminal faction. The investigation, known as Operation Narco Fluxo, has already led to the arrest of MC Ryan SP, a funk artist whose company allegedly received substantial payments from Blackbox for advertising, which authorities suspect were a facade for illicit financial operations. Rio Branco Atlético Clube, which had one of the most significant sponsorship deals with Blackbox, confirmed the contract's termination. Other clubs, including Vitória Futebol Clube, Desportiva Ferroviária, and Serra Futebol Clube, have also ended their partnerships with the company.
The terminations highlight the growing scrutiny on financial dealings within sports sponsorships and the potential impact of criminal investigations on legitimate businesses and organizations.
