Boa Vista's municipal government is addressing its 50th critical flooding point with new drainage infrastructure on João Batista Sobreiro street in the Cidade Satélite neighborhood. This project involves installing 305 meters of drainage to improve the flow of rainwater and enhance public safety. The work, overseen by the Municipal Secretariat of Public Conservation, began with laying the main pipeline and connecting 13 storm drains in the vicinity. This initiative is part of a broader effort that has already resolved flooding issues in 45 locations across 26 neighborhoods since 2021, with five additional sites currently under construction.
This infrastructure improvement is crucial for mitigating recurring flood problems, thereby enhancing the safety and quality of life for residents in affected areas.
