Authorities in Suzano, Brazil, successfully rescued five horses found abandoned in various locations within the Miguel Badra neighborhood. The animals were reportedly in poor condition, with some exhibiting injuries and severe underweight, lacking adequate shelter and water. One horse was discovered on Olavo Bianchi da Rocha street, three near the Jaguari River, and the fifth at a roundabout on Governor Mário Covas road.
The municipal government confirmed that the owner of some of the horses has been identified, notified, and fined for the neglect. Following their rescue, the horses were transported to a local stud farm where they are now receiving essential veterinary care and rehabilitation.
This rescue highlights the ongoing issue of animal neglect and the importance of municipal intervention to protect vulnerable animals.
