Originally sentenced to over six years for fatally striking a woman with his vehicle and injuring her husband in 2019, his new sentence is now over 17 years. The decision, published by the Court of Justice of Acre, also mandates a R$ 25,000 indemnity payment to the victim's family. The incident involved the officer allegedly driving at high speed, far exceeding the legal limit, after consuming alcohol, though this latter point was denied by his defense.
