Authorities in Palmas have arrested the municipal Health Secretary and the Superintendent of Health Attention as part of an investigation into alleged corruption surrounding the outsourcing of UPAs (Urgent Care Units). The probe, dubbed Operation False Emergency, is examining a scheme involving R$ 139 million, suspected of contract manipulation and falsification of documents. A businesswoman, believed to have acted as a lobbyist, is currently sought by police in connection with the case.
