Authorities in Minas Gerais are investigating the theft of a historic steel bridge, approximately 20 meters long, which was discovered at a tourist development called Ibiti Projeto. The development claims to have purchased the bridge legally for R$ 700,000 from an antique dealer, presenting a fiscal note as proof. The bridge, originally from England and dating back to the 1880s, was part of the municipal heritage in Prados. Police believe the thieves used machinery to cut the structure and blocked access roads with earth to conceal their actions.
