First wāhine Māori Anglican bishop of Te Waipounamu follows her father's footsteps

Susan Wallace has been consecrated as the first wāhine Māori Anglican bishop for the Te Waipounamu region. This historic appointment marks a significant milestone for the Anglican Church in Aotearoa New Zealand and Polynesia. Bishop Wallace's consecration follows in the footsteps of her father, who also served in ministry. She is also notable as the first bishop to wear a moko kauae, a traditional Māori chin tattoo.
