Fuel Prices Rise in Tajikistan
Gasoline and diesel fuel prices have seen an increase across Tajikistan in recent days. In Dushanbe, the price of AI-92 gasoline rose to 11.30 somoni per liter, up from 10.90 somoni a week prior and 10.40 somoni three weeks ago. Diesel fuel also experienced a significant jump, from 11 somoni last week to 13.30 somoni per liter.
Fuel station operators in the capital reported no knowledge of the specific reasons for the price hike, though they confirmed no shortages. Tajikistan's Antimonopoly Service attributed the surge to global market fluctuations, particularly citing Middle Eastern conflicts as a factor influencing the cost of imported petroleum products. Previous price increases for these fuels occurred in March and April, also linked to regional instability.
Rising fuel costs can impact transportation expenses and the prices of other goods and services for consumers in Tajikistan.
