EKO is implementing an innovative experiential training program for young drivers serving in the Cyprus National Guard, aiming to enhance road safety and promote responsible driving habits. The initiative utilizes modern methods to provide participants with a practical understanding of daily road risks through an immersive learning approach focusing on observation, reflection, action, and application.
Conducted in a controlled setting with specially designed exercises, the program challenges new motorists and motorcyclists to navigate realistic scenarios, illustrating how factors like distraction, speed, fatigue, alcohol, and drug use impact driving performance. The two-day event, held in early June 2026 in partnership with the Cyprus Police Traffic Department, concluded with reflection sessions to deepen participants' awareness of risks and encourage conscious decision-making.
This initiative is important as it directly addresses the vulnerability of new drivers by providing practical, risk-focused training to reduce accidents and foster a culture of safer roads.
