Nangolo to trade blows against experienced Zamba

Bantamweight boxer Joy Nangolo will step into the ring against experienced opponent Gabriel Zamba for the national bantamweight title at the Multipurpose Centre at Swakopmund on 24 July. MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias Boxing and Fitness Academy founder Nestor Tobias say although Nangolo will square off against Zamba, he fancies the former to come out on top on the fight night. “This fight is good for him to showcase his talent but at the same time get the necessary experience that he needs. “He demonstrated in his last fight that he has the talent but experience and guidance is needed. I am confident that he will pull off, and after that we will look at future potential fights to grow his boxing career.” In a statement issued by Tobias, the fight night is dubbed ‘Local is Lekker Boxing Bonanza at Swakopmund’. It reads: “This epic night of boxing is scheduled to take place on 24 July at the Multipurpose Centre at the coastal town of Swakopmund in the Erongo region. “The region holds a rich legacy in Namibian boxing, serving as the origin of some of the nation’s greatest pugilists. Legends such as the great Harry Simon, Immanuel ‘Prince’ Naindjala, and Abraham Ndaendapo, alongside modern stars like, Mateus Haita, Harry Simon Jr, Fillemon Ngutunanye and Timoteus Shuulula, all hail from this great region.” The evening’s headline bout features a clash between a top prospect and an experienced veteran fighter for the bantamweight national title over 10 high-stake rounds. “The undercard promises equal excitement with a lineup of fierce matchups,” the statement reads. UNDERCARD Lineekela Nghifindaka vs David Shinuna (six rounds), Fredrick Ngutunanye vs Paulus Shonena (national title 10 rounds). Thomas will also be in action, alongside several other exciting bouts. “Developing tomorrow’s champions and local matchups are always a blast for the fans. They tell the true story of who is the best in the division on home soil,” the academy says. “Our mission remains to develop, nurture, and groom these young fighters.
