Cyprus has modified its pilot "Breakfast for All" program for public preschools following parental feedback on meal quality and portion sizes. The initiative, which currently serves approximately 3,600 children in Larnaca and Famagusta, aims to provide free breakfasts and promote healthy eating habits. Initial concerns, including pre-cut fruit in plastic packaging and perceived inadequate portions, have led to adjustments. The fruit is now distributed whole, and portion sizes have been increased in response to criticism.
The adjustments aim to improve the program's effectiveness and ensure it meets the nutritional needs and preferences of young children before potential wider implementation.
