The southwest monsoon has covered parts of Telangana. Yet, the heatwave conditions are forecast to persist till the weekend. Hot conditions continued in a few districts as the highest temperature on Wednesday (June 10, 2026) was 43°C and 18 districts recorded maximum temperature exceeding 42°C.
India Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad Centre on Thursday (June 11, 2026) has forecast heatwave conditions as very likely in isolated pockets in seven north Telangana districts for Friday (June 12, 2026). Besides this, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are predicted in 18 districts.
The heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail to be observed in isolated pockets in Adilabad, Kumaram bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Peddapalli districts.
Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur on Friday (June 12, 2026) at isolated places in Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts, as per IMD’s bulletin issued on Thursday.

Besides, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad and Nagarkurnool districts.
On Wednesday, the highest of 43°C was recorded in Vemanpally of Mancherial, 42.9°C in Laxmidevipalli of Bhadradri Kothagudem and 42.8°C in Buggaram of Jagtial, as per Telangana Development Planning Society’s data. The maximum temperature was below 40°C only in nine districts.
