Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis met with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in Sofia, emphasizing that unilateral actions do not create legal outcomes and do not contribute to a calm atmosphere. Gerapetritis reiterated that the sole outstanding dispute between Greece and Turkey concerns the delimitation of continental shelf and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
Fidan, speaking on a Turkish legislative initiative regarding maritime zones, stated it constitutes "national legislation" and that Turkey respects international law and good neighborly relations. He expressed disappointment with statements based on incomplete information about the bill, suggesting they could negatively impact bilateral ties.
