Meanwhile, the intersection of Shea Road and Meridian Road in Queens has been renamed in tribute to the Brazilian legend, Pelé.
The street name changes will remain in effect until November 1st. This initiative coincides with the start of the World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with the final scheduled to be held at MetLife Stadium.
