Poland to Impose Jail for Violent Crime Streamers
WARSAW, June 11 - Polish lawmakers voted on Thursday to crack down on so-called 'trash streaming', imposing jail terms of up to five years for online broadcasts of crimes like rape and murder as well as cruelty to animals and violence aimed at humiliating people.
Lawmakers in Poland have approved new legislation that will criminalize the online broadcasting of violent acts. Individuals caught streaming crimes such as rape, murder, or acts of cruelty will face penalties of up to five years imprisonment. The new law also targets broadcasts that humiliate individuals through violence or depict animal cruelty.
This legislation aims to curb the proliferation of disturbing content online and deter individuals from profiting from or glorifying criminal activities.
