India on Thursday (June 11, 2026) handed over four state-of-the-art firefighting vehicles to the Bhutan police, in a move aimed at bolstering Bhutan's emergency response capabilities.
The contribution is part of India's broader development partnership with Bhutan, built on over six decades of active cooperation with the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP).

"This significant contribution will bolster RBP’s emergency response capabilities and reinforce public safety across Bhutan," the Indian Embassy in Thimphu posted on social media.
The vehicles were formally handed over by Aniket Govind Mandavgane, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indian Embassy in Thimphu, under the India-supported project "Infrastructure Development for RBP."
The Indian Embassy said India continued to cooperate towards Bhutan's development and security, guided by trust and goodwill.
