Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has said that quality education and healthcare formed crucial components for the all-round progress of the country.

He stressed the need for revolutionary changes in the education system and skill development besides special focus on world class amenities. The Chief Minister was speaking at the NITI Aayog governing council meeting in New Delhi, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday.

Provision of quality education and healthcare are the foundation stones for the Central Government’s Viksit Bharat - 2047 target.

He explained to the participants about the Socio, Economic, Education, Employment, Political and Caste (SEEEPC) survey conducted by the Telangana Government, which revealed several key aspects. The survey covering 3.55 crore people hailing from 242 different castes revealed that lack of education was a causative factor in social backwardness in sharp contrast to popular perception that caste played a major role. It was therefore imperative to ensure quality education to people in the country’s pursuit of Viksit Bharat goals.

Mr. Reddy informed the participants that he was holding the education portfolio too as he firmly believed that education was the solution to several problems. Though successive governments took steps to provide free education, imparting quality education had become a challenge for them. The State Government had therefore initiated revolutionary measures to ensure quality education to students besides creating a congenial atmosphere for enrolment of students in Telangana public schools. Steps were taken to ensure that education from nursery to Intermediate levels was provided in the same campus and exuded confidence that the Young India residential schools would enable breaking caste barriers among students.
