BJP State president ​P.V.N. Madhav has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership during the last 12 years transformed India into a global power and that the NDA became synonymous with good governance and true welfare of the masses.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, Mr. Madhav noted that the NDA Government was formed in 2014 under the stewardship of Mr. Modi and it had since won the people’s confidence. Mr. Modi steered the country towards development by leveraging on the experience he gained as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for 13 years.

With Mr. Modi at the helm, the BJP won 282 Lok Sabha seats in 2014 and came to power with the support of its allies. It was because of the Constitution drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar that Mr. Modi, who came from the weaker sections, got the opportunity to become the Prime Minister.

Mr. Madhav said the Modi government had successfully reduced the percentage of population below poverty line from 33.80% to 11%. The NDA Government ensured that the fruits of development reached the last person with the Antyodayaphilosophy as its guiding force.

Mr. Modi had no single corruption charge, and it was due to his foreign policy, India’s reputation enhanced like never before. The policies of the NDA Government made India one of the world’s major economic powers. Internal security was strengthened and the influence of Naxalism had significantly waned. The conditions were favourable for foreign investments, Mr. Madhav observed.

Further, he said Mr. Modi’s leadership in organising the G20 Summit received international acclaim, and on the business front, steps had been taken to increase the country’s capacity in the renewable energy sector from 33% to 50%, sectors like green hydrogen and green ammonia were being promoted.
