AZ Herentals: Kankerbehandeling thuis nu mogelijk
Patiënten van AZ Herentals die chemotherapie moeten krijgen, kunnen dat voortaan door een thuisverpleegkundige laten doen. Zo wil het ziekenhuis het comfort voor de patiënten verbeteren en het aantal verplaatsingen beperken. AZ Herentals is het eerste ziekenhuis in de Kempen dat dit aanbiedt. "Op dit moment komen niet alle patiënten in aanmerking, maar we hopen het op termijn uit te breiden", zegt dokter Greet Bries.
AZ Herentals introduces a new service allowing patients undergoing chemotherapy to receive treatment at home via a visiting nurse. This initiative aims to enhance patient comfort and reduce the need for hospital visits. The hospital is the first in the Kempen region to offer this specialized home care.
While not all patients currently qualify, the hospital plans to expand the program's reach in the future, according to Dr. Greet Bries.
