The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday announced that in accordance with the job calendar, notification for a ‘Mega’ DSC would be issued in October 2026 and the recruitment examinations were planned for December, 2026.

At a press conference, Secretary, Department of Education, Kona Sasidhar provided a detailed clarification regarding DSC-2025 recruitment. He dismissed allegations circulating on social media concerning the implementation of horizontal reservations, sports quota appointments and reservations for persons with disabilities, stating that the recruitment process had been conducted with complete transparency and in strict accordance with established rules.

Explaining the delay in filling approximately 6,100 teacher vacancies notified in 2024, Mr. Sasidhar said that the government had to ensure the lawful implementation of horizontal reservations in line with the Supreme Court and High Court judgments. Additionally, the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and DSC processes had to be coordinated carefully to avoid confusion among candidates, he said, explaining that these factors contributed to the delay in completing the recruitment process.

He emphasised that the DSC process was entirely digital, leaving no scope for paper leakage. Only two authorised permanent employees had access to upload data into the system and passwords were changed regularly to prevent unauthorised access.

Regarding the preparation of merit lists, Mr. Sasidhar said that 20% weightage was given to TET scores and 80% to DSC scores to prepare the general merit list. “TET marks have already been made available on the official website,” he said.

He clarified that receiving a certificate verification call letter does not guarantee selection, as final appointments depend on horizontal reservation
