The City police have made considerable progress in the seizure of narcotic drugs with its 11-day intensified raids and flash inspections, which led to the recovery of 79.46 grams of MDMA and 933.53 grams of ganja.

The latest figures showed that the police have taken action in 203 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases during the period from June 1 to 11. The largest ganja seizure was reported on Thursday when the police recovered 625.52 grams of the contraband.

Significant ganja seizures were also recorded on June 1 (170.12 grams), June 8 (51 grams), and June 3 (34.17 grams). The highest MDMA seizure was made on June 5, when officers recovered 59.81 grams of the synthetic drug. The other notable MDMA recoveries included 6.64 grams on June 10, 6.13 grams on June 8, and 5.99 grams on June 2.

Data from the District Crime Records Bureau indicated that anti-drug operations were carried out on a daily basis, with the highest number of enforcement actions being recorded on June 7 during the review period.

Senior police officers said the intensified surveillance would continue with a focus on flash vehicle checks and intelligence-based operations.
