Tamil Nadu’s Minister for School Education Rajmohan said the TVK government will follow the existing two-language policy in schools - Tamil and English.

“Our government will not yield to any indirect pressure and the TVK will remain steadfast, without any compromise, in its stand on the two-language policy,” he told The Hindu.

The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the names of 19 persons including 10 lawyers and nine judicial officers, for appointment as judges of the Madras High Court which now functions with a working strength of 52 judges as against its sanctioned strength of 75 including three serving in other High Courts.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay should accord his government’s sanction to prosecute former DMK Minister V. Senthilbalaji in an alleged cash-for-jobs scam, even as the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) had reportedly written again to the State government in this regard, BJP spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy said while addressing journalists at Chennai.
