DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has continued to strengthen its efforts to attract investment into the country after a delegation of businessmen from the Slovak Republic showed interest in investing in various strategic sectors. Speaking during the Tanzania-Slovakia Business and Investment Forum held in conjunction with the official opening of the Slovak Embassy in Tanzania, TISEZA Board Chairman, Ambassador Aziz Mlima, said that the move reflects the strengthening of economic relations between the two countries as well as the increasing confidence of international investors in Tanzania. Ambassador Mlima said that, as an institution responsible for coordinating, facilitating and promoting investment in the country, TISEZA is committed to ensuring that investors receive quality services at all stages of the investment process through the One-Stop Facilitation Centre and Special Economic Zones (SEZ). In addition, he has invited Slovak investors to take advantage of the opportunities available in the country, explaining that Slovakia’s experience in the technology, engineering, modern industries, innovation and energy sectors can contribute significantly to the implementation of Tanzania’s development priorities. For his part, a senior official from the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Daniel Koladova, said the message has attracted them to invest in the country due to the rapid growth of Tanzania’s economy and the investment-friendly environment that continues to be improved. The conference has brought together government leaders, public institutions and the private sector from Tanzania and Slovakia with the aim of discussing business opportunities, strengthening economic cooperation and attracting productive investments for the development of the two countries.
