Burglars decamped with 550 liquor bottles, that is estimated to cost around ₹50,000, at a Tasmac outlet at Pazhanjur village near Arani town in Tiruvannamalai on on Friday.
The police said that the outlet salesman, S. Ravichandran, 38, opened the outlet around noon. He went inside the shop and found that a hole had been drilled on the wall to gain access to the shop.
The police said that staff at the outlet found several racks of liquor bottles were stolen. Hard disks of CCTV cameras fixed inside the outlets were also missing and the cameras were damaged. Immediately, they alerted Arani Town police. The police are checking the CCTV camera footage on the route where the shop is located. A case was registered and a probe is under way.
