Simultaneous generation and transfer of mechanical noise squeezing

Researchers have successfully demonstrated the transfer of mechanical noise squeezing between two distinct mechanical modes. This was achieved by using a single microwave cavity mode to mediate the process. Noise squeezing was initially generated in a control mechanical mode through parametric modulation. Subsequently, an optomechanical interaction facilitated the transfer of this squeezing to a target mechanical mode. The experiment confirmed the successful transfer by observing strong correlations between the mechanical modes.
This breakthrough offers a new method for enhancing the precision of measurements by enabling controllable noise reduction in mechanical systems.
