Pai de Santo Preso Suspeito de Abusos em Centro de Umbanda

A 46-year-old religious leader, identified as Flávio Henrique de Oliveira Morais, has been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing at least eight teenage girls. The alleged offenses occurred at an Umbanda center in Belo Horizonte, where the victims, aged 15 to 17 at the time, frequented the establishment. Authorities state that Morais exploited his position of religious authority and the trust of his followers to commit the acts. During his arrest, police seized electronic devices, including a cell phone, laptop, and USB drives. Investigations revealed that the alleged abuses took place during religious ceremonies, with the suspect reportedly targeting vulnerable young women. He allegedly used persuasive tactics and sent inappropriate messages to the victims. Morais, who has no prior criminal record, denied the accusations, suggesting one victim influenced the others to file complaints. The investigation began after a friend of one of the alleged victims reported the incidents to the police.
