136,000 insured without a doctor: ZZZS's solution?

As of the end of April, over 136,000 insured individuals in Slovenia are without a primary care physician. This situation has led to long queues at health centers, with people waiting for hours to register with doctors accepting new patients. The Assembly of the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia (ZZZS) is urging the Ministry of Health to legally enable automatic patient transfers. They also propose prioritizing patients based on their health status for registration. However, the doctors' union Fides has reservations about increasing capitation rates, which is another proposed measure. The ZZZS is actively seeking solutions to address this growing deficit in primary care access.
