Police Accused of Beating Cricketer Nayeem

National cricketer Nayeem Hasan has accused police officers of assaulting him after pulling him out of an auto-rickshaw in Chittagong's Lal Khan Bazar area on Friday night. Hasan stated that he was subjected to harassment and physical assault by SI Shofiqul Islam of Khulshi Police Station and an associate, even after presenting his identification. He was subsequently taken to the police station, where he claims further mistreatment occurred. In response to the allegations, three individuals, including SI Shofiqul, have been transferred from Khulshi Police Station to the police lines. Nayeem's brother has reportedly filed a case regarding the incident.
