Government Aims to Transform Challenges into Opportunities at Investment Conference

The Bangladeshi government intends to present the country as a stable, predictable, and open investment destination, despite global economic uncertainties and domestic challenges. The government aims to inject new momentum into economic diplomacy, guided by Prime Minister Tareq Rahman's three key objectives: stability, reform, and development. Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman articulated these intentions at an investment conference in Dhaka, jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). The conference, themed 'Roadmap for Trade, Growth, and Economic Diplomacy,' seeks to transform challenges into opportunities, particularly in light of the global energy crisis, which is seen as potentially more severe than the 1970s oil shocks. The government is working to re-establish trust and confidence among domestic businesses, citizens, and international partners to foster a stable and business-friendly environment, aiming to make Bangladesh a competitive investment hub in South Asia.
