Khulshi Police OC withdrawn over cricketer's assault

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulshi Police Station, Arifur Rahman, has been withdrawn following an incident where national cricketer Naim Hasan was allegedly assaulted and taken to the police station. The order for withdrawal was issued by the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner. Naim Hasan reported being beaten by a police team identifying themselves as DB police while returning home. The incident occurred in the Lal Khan Bazar area. Following public criticism, two police members involved were temporarily suspended and transferred. The CMP has formed a three-member committee to investigate the matter thoroughly. The cricketer was later released from the police station after intervention from Bangladesh Cricket Board officials.
