The report, released on Friday the 12th, also indicates that 93.5% of victims suffer consequences such as depression and anxiety. Furthermore, 58.3% of victims reported that their children witnessed the violence. Psychological, physical, and sexual violence were identified as the most common types. Financial dependence is cited as the primary reason women remain in abusive relationships, lacking perceived alternatives for subsistence and support. The DF has recorded 242 femicide victims since 2015.
