PM urges faster water projects execution
SINGIDA: PRIME Minister, Dr Mwigulu Nchemba , has directed Ministry of Water officials to ensure effective implementation of government plans aimed at expanding access to clean and safe water, stating that establishment of a national water grid remains a key priority in addressing shortages. Resources have been allocated to connect more villages to water services, with water drilling rigs purchased for each region. Completion of major projects funded by domestic resources will allow the government to focus more on key sectors like water, roads, and electricity. The Prime Minister announced that funding for water, electricity, and road projects will no longer go through the central government system. This change aims to speed up project implementation and improve service delivery. Infrastructure projects in Iramba District include road upgrades and bridge construction. The Deputy Minister for Energy highlighted progress in expanding electricity access in the area.
